Claire
has worked to mobilize grassroots support in Maryland
for the Global Warming Solutions Act with the Sierra Club, protect Southeastern
forests with the Dogwood Alliance, and advocate for public water systems with
Corporate Accountability International in St.
Louis. Working in coordination
with the Alliance
for Global Warming Solutions in Maryland, Claire helped build the grassroots support
necessary to gain Governor O’Malley’s support for the landmark Global Warming
Solutions Act in the fall of 2007. Prior
to joining Green Corps, Claire was a campus activist at Oberlin College,
where she majored in environmental studies, with a minor in Politics and East
Asian Studies. During college she spent
a semester doing relief work in the lower 9th ward of New Orleans, and also worked with ACE (Alternatives for
Community and the Environment) in Roxbury,
MA.
