Background

Claire has worked to mobilize grassroots support in Maryland for the Global Warming Solutions Act with the Sierra Club, protect Southeastern forests with the Dogwood Alliance, and advocate for public water systems with Corporate Accountability International in St. Louis.  Working in coordination with the Alliance for Global Warming Solutions in Maryland, Claire helped build the grassroots support necessary to gain Governor O’Malley’s support for the landmark Global Warming Solutions Act in the fall of 2007.  Prior to joining Green Corps, Claire was a campus activist at Oberlin College, where she majored in environmental studies, with a minor in Politics and East Asian Studies.  During college she spent a semester doing relief work in the lower 9th ward of New Orleans, and also worked with ACE (Alternatives for Community and the Environment) in Roxbury, MA.
