Background

Ben oversees Green Corps’ outreach to hundreds of college campuses and student networks to recruit and select the incoming class of Green Corps organizers.  He also coordinates our online outreach and serves as a trainer for numerous student activist conferences.  While still a student, Ben served as the Campaign Manager for the Bill Carriss Campaign for State Senate, where he helped develop the campaign strategy, implemented organizing tactics, and managed a team of volunteers.  With Green Corps, Ben worked with National Environmental Trust in Columbus, OH.  He helped build the grassroots support needed to convince the state’s Senators to support the energy bill and increased CAFÉ standards.  Ben also worked on the Environment America Clean Energy Future campaign and the Campaign to Protect the Badlands with Oregon Natural Desert Association.  Ben received degrees in Environmental Studies and Political Science from University of Vermont in 2007 and graduated from Green Corps in 2008.
